Replaced transmission drive flange oil seal last weekend, learned a lot!
Took up the challenge, read some online and ordered parts from Paruzzi.
Valuable thesamba post with pictures to read up on the subject.
Things of note:
When the crap is out of the bolts they undo relatively easy. Didn't strip out any.
The snapring was larger than my pliers liked, so I modified needlenose pliers to do the job. Helped especially for snapping it in.
While working a lot of oil came out, (i'm not that fast). Luckily I thought of refilling beforehand.
The 'drill a hole and use a woodscrew' method worked a charm to get the old seal out.
Made a wooden ring (with a holesaw, first big hole, than smaller in the cutoff) to tap the seal in, happy with the result. Dimensions: 25mm thick, 38mm id, 70mm od.
